4 Grand Canyon National Park U.S. Department of the Interior National Park Service In 2008, completed Phase I: Collected native plant cuttings and seed Obliterated vast network of social trails Obliterated log constructed staircase Established new campsites near river

5 Grand Canyon National Park U.S. Department of the Interior National Park Service In 2009, completed Phase II: Planted 65 native nursery and salvage plants onsite Installed eight experimental ollas (clay pot slow release irrigation) Began watering regime experiments between traditional berms and olla irrigation

6 Grand Canyon National Park U.S. Department of the Interior National Park Service In 2010, started Phase III: Planted another 265 native nursery and salvage plants Installed 22 new ollas Replaced mortality from original planting and continued watering experiments Mortality rate at about 9%
