10. 10 Lessons Learned from ISMS Transition Manage ISMS Verification as a project Be cognizant of the rate of change an organization can absorb to ensure safety of your workforce is maintained Be realistic about the required run time for new processes Management commitment and communication is key to ensuring processes are embraced and implemented. Management engagement - interactive observations – is essential to achieving desired behaviors and performance External reviews (Contractor External Assist Visits) provide an objective baseline for readiness Managing ISMS in concert with transformation and mission accomplishment proved to be complex, challenging, and the right decision
