3. Creating a new relational database  You MUST name the database BEFORE you save it. Start Programs, Microsoft Office Access Create new file, blank database Navigate to YOUR folder Give the database a name Create

6. Creating tables  Click tables  Double-Click create table in design view

7. Create tables Type in a field name Select the field type Type a description IF NECESSARY

8. Field Properties Once you have entered a field name, field properties options are available

9. Primary Key  To complete a table, a primary key must be designated.  Put your insertion point inside the field name  Click the primary key button on the toolbar  That field is now the primary key

10. Save and Close the table  Click the Save button on the toolbar  Name the table  Close the table (little X)

11. Table is now ready for you to open and input data
