11. Title 5 changes effective August 16, 2007 – Philosophy and Criteria for AA Degree and General Ed §55060 – District Policy  The governing board of each community college shall adopt policy consistent with the provisions of this article. The policy shall be published in the college catalog under appropriate headings, and filed with the Chancellor’s Office as required by section 51004. §55061 – District Policy  The governing board of a community college district shall adopt a policy which states its specific philosophy on General Education.

Title 5 Changes effective June 16, 2008 – Course Repetition §55040 – District Policy for Course Repetition - The governing board of each community college district shall adopt and publish policies and procedures pertaining to the repetition of credit courses.  Repeatable courses  Repetition to alleviate substandard course work  Repetition due to significant lapse of time  Repetition of variable unit courses  Repetition due to extenuating circumstances  Academic renewal without course repetition

Title 5 changes effective June 16, 2008 - Withdrawal §55024 – The governing board of a district, which decides to provide a withdrawal procedure, shall adopt a policy, which provides for withdrawal from credit courses consistent with the following... adoption implemented July 1, 2009  Withdrawal period through 75 percent of a term  Notation of “W”  Calculation of “W” in grade point averages  Number of times permitted for “W” symbol  Military withdrawal
