Mobile phones have allowed our generation to connect with others all over the world. However, the potential threats are numerous, including losing the phones, having someone take it while you are not looking, a friend could take and read messages containing private information. It allows people to commit identity theft and steal personal information. These devices enable a faster lifestyle, where we can instantly to connect to the internet or to friends and family at almost any time. Without mobiles, life would be much slower and more difficult for the younger generation especially.

Like all social websites, allow us to find friends around the world. Potential threats include connecting to the wrong people, Adding strangers that could take advantage of you, allowing someone else onto your account, letting others see personal information. Viruses and hackers are common to Facebook, some of them capable of deleting all saved files on a computer. Without Facebook, many people would be without a means to connect to people around the world, it is used widely to find new people or reconnect with those in far away places.

Smaller and easier to use than Google, Bing offers a more secure search, allowing more user privacy. However, the system is very small and may contain limited results. Unlike some other search sites, Bing does not sell personal information or searches from a persons account.

Identity theft may occur Cyber Bullying may happen at any time. Paedophiles and Stalkers are able to follow people. Important information can be easily lost while stored on a portable device A virus or software malfunction may cause loss of files or personal data.

Potential employers may check social websites to get an idea of character. Computer/Video games are much more common. School work is becoming more reliable on the internet. People are spending more time online and less time learning.

Books are being sold less in favour of technology People are buying more things online such as clothes, holidays and virtual books for devices like the kindle. Chains from the high-street are closing down due to lack of customers. New jobs are created, such as: game designers, hackers, IT technicians, network managers, web designers and forum moderators.
