Male Pattern Baldness is hereditary, you get it from your mother! The explanation is genetic and linked to your mother's X-Chromosome. Male-pattern baldness, which is usually inherited and also affects women, is caused by oversensitive hair follicles. Dihydrotestosterone (DHT), produced by the male hormone testosterone, causes the follicles to shrink and eventually stop functioning.
