Since the 1930’s over 97% of the species- rich meadows and around 50% of ancient woodland in England and Wales have been lost. Greater horseshoe bats suffered over 90% population declines with around 6,500 now remaining in the UK (compared to around 140,000 red squirrels)

Bath and North East Somerset – The place to live, work and visit »Compensation / Mitigation consisted of two adjacent room spaces and a roof void in the boiler room, dedicated to bats. » Internal features included a “bat cupboard”; a wall panel for crevice dwelling bats, and a lean-to space. »Already showing signs of success
