2 Cells as Building Blocks A cell is the basic unit of structure and function in living things. Every living thing is made up of cells. Jobs that our cells do: – Break down food – Carry oxygen to other cells – Carry away waste materials

4 Four types of tissue Epithelial Muscle Connective Nervous

5 Tissues Most of your body is made of muscle tissue. Your skeleton is made of connective tissue. Another type of connective tissue is blood. Nervous tissue makes muscles contract.

6 Tissues work together in an Organ. Stomach: breaks down food. Heart: pumps blood to the body. Lungs: take in oxygen.

7 All of these work together to form an organ system.

8 Circulatory System Made of: Heart, blood vessels, & blood. The circulatory system transports nutrients and waste throughout the body.
