SPACE INVENTORY We will visit several spaces For each space, write down how that space makes you feel.

GROUP WORK Did you have the same feelings? What specifically about the room created these feelings?

SPACE IT’S NOT THE SIZE! It’s how much is there and where it is placed. Open or closed? Crowded, cluttered? Inhibits or encourages movement?

LIGHT Light changes atmosphere faster than any other design element. Was the space dark or light? Was the light natural?

COLOR Human beings have a physiological response to color. Were the colors hot, warm, cool or cold? Did the colors complement each other?

LINE Angular, round, geometric, soft, heavy.

Texture Rough, soft, metallic, fuzzy?

JOURNAL ENTRY 1. How did each space make you feel? 2. Why? (space, light, color, line, texture) 3. What does mise en scene mean? 4. What did you learn from this activity ?
