8. North Carolina history Well, North Carolina all started when some Virginians settled in what would become North Carolina. In 1663 king Charles II issued a royal chapter to eight nobles to settle the area of Virginia. They created Carolina and included the previous settlement. However, because of interral problems, the crown took over the colony and formed north and south Carolina out of it in 1729.

William Blount: ( 1749-1800) first nc signatory of the U.S. constitution. Played a role in creation of the state or Tennessee. Conrad L. Raiford: ( 1907-2002) one of Greensboro's finest African American police officers.

11. Cape hatters light house Cape hatters light house is a light house located on hatters island in the outer banks of north Carolina. cape hatters light is the height of 200 feet! It’s the 23 rd tallest traditional light house in the world!
