4. When Did This Problem Really Start? At the end of the Clinton administration into the beginning of the Bush administration. The economy was great during the Clinton years but slowly degraded in the next few years. Our economy has really been on a downfall for over 8 years.

5. Generous Payouts and Boom of Retirement Large companies used surplus money from the Clinton administration for bonuses for their employees. Incredibly large amounts of “baby boomers” began retiring at once drying out some companies retirement plans. This left many retirees no money to retire on and forced them to retire on what money they had saved….hopefully.

6. Possible solution to the problem Well, it’s not exactly a solution but it will help greatly….if we had complete solution, I would not be giving this presentation, right? People close to retirement need to try to save their own retirement fund if possible. Not everyone will be able to do this, but those who can need to.

7. Have we hit rock bottom? I don’t think so. Will this end soon? Probably not. It will probably take a few more years if not an entire decade to get back to normal. Something needs to change or this country will slip further into recession.
