17. Technology as a research tool Section 1 Research what goes into a bird habitat in the Northeast (specifically, Monroe County). In your research, be sure to include all components that are required for a bird to live. That is, food, shelter, and any other components that help make up a habitat. Notes on your research will need to be turned in as an organized, Microsoft Word document. Section 2 Explore the area around the school to determine where a good habitat could be created. Please be sure you are on school property and in the teacher’s eye sight. Use your research from section one to help you find this habitat. Once in that area, brainstorm, create a draft, take measurements of the area, use technology as a means of getting more ideas(pictures?), and start to discuss as a group how you will go about creating this habitat. All notes, measurements, and technology used will need to be turned in for this section on a clean sheet of paper. Section 3 For the third section you need to design a model or create a drawing (use a scale) of the habitat that you would like to create. Then, you will be presenting this project to our large class (both classes). In your project you will discuss the research methods used, how you applied this research to your exploring the habitat, and finally an explanation of your habitat and reasons for the choices you made while creating your habitat.
