History In a NPMA 2008 Survey the SIG PIM was rated as the number one special interest group. On August 19, 2009, official birthday. One of the first six NPMA SIGs created. On January 17, 2010, the SIG Charter was approved.

History Within months the SIG grew to more than 80 members. The SIG PIM Officers have participated in the last four National Educational Seminars with breakout sessions. Provided presentations to Chapters on the SIG.

SIG Responsibilities Communicate with SIG members a minimum of four (4) times a year via e-mail. Facilitate a continuous networking and information sharing among SIG members. Provide up-to-date SIG-related content for the NPMA SIG website and the NPMA News Flash. Write articles for the Property Professional Magazine.

Structure of the SIG Governing Board National Director of SIGs. Assistant National Director of SIGs. Western Region (WR) Director of SIGs. Central Region (CR) Director of SIGs. Eastern Region (ER) Director of SIGs. National Executive Vice President. National Vice President of Membership.

Purpose of SIG Governing Board Evaluate SIG policy and set direction for SIG activities. Provide updates to the national membership and communicate SIG directives to the SIG Chairs and their respective Region Vice Presidents. No administrative role in the operation of each SIG. Advisor works in harmony with the SIG.

Expectations for 2013-2014 Increase membership active participation. Interact and network through the development and prioritization by using real life case studies. Communicate at least quarterly with membership. Members post discussions and/or comments at least quarterly on NPMA website.

Expectations for 2013-2014 Encourage articles for NPMA Property Professional magazine. SIG Officers hold conference calls at least quarterly. Conduct an annual business meeting at the NPMA NES. Submit for a National SIG Award – SIG Excellence Award and/or SIG Outstanding Leadership Award

Format for the Panel Discussion The moderator introduces an issue or topic may be set forth as a topical question, a hypothetical incident, an experience, an actual case, etc. The panelists present their views and opinions regarding the issue or topic for a set amount of time. The moderator closes the discussion and provides a summary of panel presentations and discussion.

Points to Remember Be an active SIG PIM participant. Communicate often using the NPMA website. Network your expertise with other SIG members. Ask the SIG PIM Officers to present information about the SIG PIM to your Chapters.
