Set Up the QuickTest Professional Work Environment What are the environments and objects in the application under test? Is it Windows, Web, SAP or Terminal Emulator? Does it use Java, ActiveX, plain HTML, Visual Basic? What are the available add- ins in the Add-in Manager that I need to select? How much information should the test capture into the ActiveScreen? What are the proper record and run settings I need to configure?

Record User Actions IMPORTANT: Follow the user actions listed in the test case. Make sure you have the correct sample data for a complete and successful transaction. Test Step and Active Screen Each selected step in the Tree View highlights the captured object in the ActiveScreen Each step comprises of the recorded object, the method (action performed on the object), and if applicable, the value entered through the action. “Fly From” Select “Los Angeles” Objectmethod value entered

Saving Tests Tests can be saved into the file system or into TestDirector Requires a standard Windows location to store tests Requires connection to an existing TestDirector project Requires a valid TestDirector user and password Speak with TD Admin to set up connections Connects to the standard Windows location

Verify Correct Playback Check that no error messages appear 1 1 Use the ‘Run’ button to begin playback from the top of the test. Select the location of the test results - new results folder - temporary folder Select the location of the test results - new results folder - temporary folder 2 2

Viewing the Test Results Test results can be stored in their own location (for documentation) or in a temporary location that is overwritten each time the test is run (for debugging). Action0 Action1 Script.mts Test Res1 Res2
