Pupil Council Updates

You asked… Can we have another 501 and 17S to save crowding? We want a one hour lunch If there’s Wi-Fi available, why can’t we use it? Can we have a homework diary? If I’m late because of my bus in the morning, then why am in trouble? Can we have crisps at lunch time and hot dogs more often?

We did… Following a meeting with Mr Carroll, the pupil council have managed to prompt a meeting with the Sustainable Transport Manager to discuss school transport issues Unfortunately, if we were to extend our lunch from 50 minutes to 1 hour, then the school day would finish later, 3:35. The school are supplied with a limited amount of internet data. Council IT department suggest allowing access may result in very slow and poor service. Some schools are using Wi-Fi with pupils own devices. If this proves to be successful access may be reconsidered.

We did… As we speak, Mrs Flynn and a few pupil councillors have had meetings with a company and the pricing of diaries is being worked out. Diaries are expensive. More information to follow soon. The Pupil Council highlighted this as a problem with Mr Carroll. Late Monitoring has helped identify when buses are late. When buses are regularly late this is reported to the bus company. Pupils should now be given a pass, that is given to their Registration Teacher, when the when their bus is late. Tayside contracts have informed us that they are given a set amount of stock and can only sell what they have. As for hot dogs, hot dogs are sold at the snack bar when the school have them delivered in.
