Important words to know Greater than – 10 is greater then 1 - 10>1 Less then – 2 is less then 12 - 2<12 Addend – 3+4=7, the 3 and 4 are addend. Sum – 3+4=7, the sum is the answer to an addition sentence. Difference – 7-4=3, the 3 is the answer to a subtraction problem.
