LIVING IN BRITAIN

Most British people live in houses. Some people live in flats. Houses are all different shapes and sizes. The most common are terraced houses, semi-detached houses, detached houses and blocks of flats, too.
3
DETACHED HOUSES The largest and expensive type of houses are detached houses. Most detached houses are built of brick. These houses are not joined to other houses. These houses have got a garden around it.

TERRACED HOUSES First terraced houses were built in the late 19th and early 20th century. They were built for working people. There are usually five or more houses joined together in a row. There is a small back garden. Terraced houses are quite small with two bedrooms, a living room and a kitchen.
