2. In the beginning…. There once was a girl named Kathryn, or Katie, Berbenich. She was a small town girl, living in a lonely world. To escape her lonely life, she made up lies to get the attention she wanted..

3. The Mientas Katie had a group of friends that went by the name of “Mientas”. The Mientas was a group inspired by Katie. Mienta’s meant liar in Spanish. Katie ALWAYS made up lies, and the mienta’s were starting to get aggravated by it.

4. One of Katie’s lies was that she was getting a brand new BMW car. THE LIES:

5. THE LIES Another was that she got drunk off of a Starbuck’s vanilla latte…

6. THE LIES Katie also claimed that she had a grandmother that was from Genovia, the country that was in the movie The Princess Diaries, even though the country is made up…

7. THE LIES Katie also told many people that her house was going to have a plasma tv in every single room, including the bathrooms and the closets..

8. THE LIES Katie started a rumor as well saying that she had to take pills because she had AIDS…

9. The Final Straw As Katie’s lies continued, her friends became more and more fed up. They warned her that if she continued with these lies, they wouldn’t take anything she said seriously.

10. Katie’s Escape Katie couldn’t believe how mean her friends were being, so she decided to run far into the woods to get away. She made friends with many creatures along the way.

11. The Tale of the Wolf While talking to the creatures of the woods, they warned Katie of the big bad wolf that prowled around throughout the night and looked for prey.

12. Encounter with the Wolf Ironically enough, that night, Katie was awoken from her slumber, by the noise of leaves rustling and a soft but sharp growling sound…

13. The Wolf Attacks Katie realized she was nose to nose with the wolf and immediately ran to the closest tree and climbed all the way up.

14. The Call Luckily, Katie had left her cell phone in her pocket. She quickly dialed all her friends for them to get help, but because of all the lies she cultivated in the past, none of them believed her.

15. The Fall The branches in the tree began to weaken, and soon enough, Katie fell to the ground at the wolf’s feet.

16. Karma? Katie died a slow and painful death. Some people believed it was karma. To this day, her friends still live with the guilt for not believing Katie when she needed help. RIP Kathryn Elizabeth Berbenich 1991-2007
