3 What is a Works Cited/Bibliography?  A Works Cited/Bibliography is where you write down the sources that you used for research.  You must cite your sources. This means you must give credit to the people you are getting your information from.  If you do not cite your sources, you are plagiarizing!!!!

4 How Do You Cite a Source? The whole point of citing sources is to let your readers know exactly where you got your information from. Therefore, you must provide A LOT of information. Things you include in a citation:  Author’s name  Title of the book/article/website  Publisher and publisher’s city  Editor (if there is one)  Year of publication  Medium of publication (print/web)

5 How to Cite a Book  Lastname, Firstname. Title of Book. City of Publication: Publisher, Year of Publication. Medium of Publication. Smith, John. The Most Awesome of Books. Atlanta: Cool Publishing Company, 2015. Print. NOTICE: The title is italicized. Pay close attention to the punctuation and capitalization.

6 How to Cite an Article  Author(s). "Title of Article." Title of Periodical Day Month Year: pages. Medium of publication. Abbot, John. “The Most Awesome Article.” Awesome Magazine 8 Sep. 2015: 7 – 10. Web.

7 How to Cite a Website  Editor, author, or compiler name (if available). Name of Site. Version number. Name of institution/organization affiliated with the site (sponsor or publisher), date of resource creation (if available). Medium of publication. Date of access. Potter, John. Awesome Website. Awesome Company, 2015. Web. 9 Sep. 2015  Remember to use n.p. if no publisher name is available and n.d. if no publishing date is given..

9 Now You Try  Groups of 3 or 4  There are 9 stations in the room. Each station has 1 source that you need to cite.  You and your group will use your notes to create a bibliography for these sources.  1 bibliography per group.
