Implementing the MoU Input from the Dutch partners Maya van den Berg - UTwente Natasha de Sena - Wageningen UR

Considerations Short term objective: outline each partners’ goals (short and long term) – where do we meet each other? What do we want to achieve? We will not be working together with all partners in all projects The universities first focus on the exchange of staff and students Besides exchange of students, we also seek research projects in the triple helix format (Government + Universities + Private companies) The Dutch parties want to know what you are needing from us We will all be looking for funding

Towards the next stage Steps to take before Dec 15th : We start drafting the working plan. We (WUR+UT) are working on a first draft; Working plan consists of: Short term concrete pilot project (CIC?) Long term plan for student exchange (MSc, PhD) In March: We have another meeting with all partners being present (format: Conference – Smart City Business); The first students are being exchanged; Our first pilot project takes place (the bike plan for the Industrial Area – CIC?)

Timeline - milestones Develop work plan Short term: Pilot project CIC Long term: Student exchange Develop pilot project plan Pilot project CIC Define Student exchange Conference – Team meeting Working on pilot project CIC First students already exchanged Evaluation process so far

What we need to know… What are your (research) questions to us or any of the Dutch parties? Based on your needs and aims, we can shape our working plan (please keep in mind: both questions for short term (pilot project) and long term (research topics for research) What does each partner has to offer to the work (we already have discussed it, but having a list would make things more clear and concrete). Add contribution related to amount of students, specialists (and their knowledge areas), facilities, etc.

Topics to discuss 1. We should start with a concrete project, e.g. the micro-grids plan for the Industrial Area (CIC): Who will be outlining and leading the project? Is there a project plan/description of the issue? What will you be needing from the Dutch partner(s)? What is the timeline? What is the budget?

Topics to discuss 2.Who is the contact from each partner who will deliver input for the working programme?
