7. Major Updates for 2015-16 General  IEP teams are required to select either Oregon’s Extended Assessment or Oregon’s General Assessments as the only option for all subject areas assessed. Students who participate in Oregon’s Extended Assessment will not participate in Oregon’s general assessments. Smarter Balanced  Classroom activities will no longer be administered.  The instructional day requirement is now 66% for students in grade 11  The expiration is now 20 days for performance tasks ELPA21  Paper-pencil components for K-1 tests.

Setting Text-to-Speech in TIDE Test-to-Speech(TTS) is an Embedded Designated Support for items and stimuli on all OAKS and Smarter Balanced Tests EXCEPT stimuli in English languages arts (for which it is an embedded accommodation requiring documentation in an IEP or 504 plan). Text-to-Speech could not be split into two categories on the student settings page in TIDE (i.e., Designated Support and Accommodation) this year. Both items, stimuli, and stimuli & items are all located under the same drop-down menu under Embedded Designated Supports. Please make sure to exercise extreme caution when selecting this support for students to avoid a testing impropriety.

10. Smarter Balanced Results/ISRs 2015-16 turnaround on results is ~3 weeks after the completed test has been submitted.* ISRs will be available as soon as each student's score has been returned to ODE and loaded. Typically about three weeks after the student completes both the CAT and PT. *Note that students who only complete part of the assessment will not have their scores returned until three weeks after the state test window is closed.
