Lesson Objective You will complete a draft version of your film review using the codes and conventions learnt throughout this unit.

Final Assessment Your assessment task this half term will be to write a film review of a film. You will be graded on: – Your ability to use the codes and conventions of a film review – Your ability to write in a way to interest the reader – Your use of paragraphs – Your use of connectives – Your use of different sentence types – Your punctuation – Your spelling

Film Title Introduction: What previous knowledge did you have about the genre and the story? What did you expect of the film, before watching it? Plot: What happens in the film? Did the story make sense? Was it easy to follow? Did the film match the poem, or were changes made? Don’t give anything away! Characters: Who were the main characters? Who played them? Did they do a good job? Good bits: What did you enjoy about the film, and why. Bad bits: What didn’t you enjoy, and why. Conclusion, recommendation and rating: Sum up your opinion of the film. Who would enjoy it, and why? What would you rate it (out of five)?

Plenary Choose and highlight one paragraph from your draft, which you are finding most challenging. Swap reviews with a partner. Read the highlighted paragraph. Give two suggestions for improvement. Finalise your draft, using the suggestions. You will complete the formal assessment next lesson.
