3. Problems
Despite being a very popular tourist destination, Gambia does have its problems, many of which are caused by the tourists themselves.
When tourists visit Gambia they often wear little clothing in the hot climate. This offends many Gambians as it is against their Muslim beliefs
Much of the money which is spent by tourists in Gambia is taken by the foreign people who own the hotels, who choose to import their food rather than buy it from the locals

4. Solutions?
There are many different things tourists and hotel owners can do to resolve Gambia’s tourism related problems
Community tourism – If tourists chose to stay with local tribes they could learn about the Gambian way of life and would therefore be less likely to offend the Gambian locals
Sustainable tourism – If hotel owners bought their food from local farmers then they would be investing their money in the local community and giving the Gambian locals a fair deal
