Description of Study Pre-Test: As a pre-test I had my students write a reflective journal entry discussing what they already knew about fairy tales. They were then asked to include a paragraph discussing what they already knew about Cinderella. Assessments: To assess student learning, I distributed two quizzes. One over Yeh-Shen and one over Aschenputtel. They were distributed a day after completion of reading each story. These quizzes demonstrated student learning aligned to the Common Core State Standards Literacy.RL.7.1, 3, 4, and 6.

Reflection and Remediation Change 1: I would change the amount of discussion held in the classroom. I felt like the class was too rushed at times. Change 2: I would change the timing of the quizzes. They were given back to back due to scheduling conflicts and I feel like this affected the students’ scores.
