Science Department Indicators of Student Growth
2
Student Growth Science Students were given their exams the first week of the trimester. This serves two functions: – 1 st to identify which concepts students have or don’t have a grasp on as they enter the class – 2 nd to see how growth has occurred over the duration of the trimester in each class taught.

Biology Biology is offered to students in the 9 th grade. It is a required class to graduate and students must pass all three parts (A,B, and C). Students are assessed at the end of each trimester to see how growth occurred during that time and are not evaluated on growth from the beginning of the year to the end.
