Integrated Release Approach and Update TPTF 11/10/2008 Matt Mereness

2 Current state of Nodal Integration in EDS MMS3 functions SCED running DAM inactive due to modeling issues Settlement/CSI interface is manual Partial WebServices (no notifications) Manual postings of reports EMS running LFC, State Estimator Older EIP layer supporting submissions to MMS

3 Current Program Focus on Project Integration Project 1 Project 2 Project 3 EDS Integrated Releases Core and Supporting Projects (FAT)  Project builds put into time-boxed Integrated Releases  These Integrated Releases will be integration tested, then pushed to EDS  The objective is to have nodal integration matured for next iteration of EDS. Project milestone Indicates project milestones in a release Cross project dependency Legend Patches/BugFixes

4 Definition of Integration Testing Levels Level 1 Integration (L1) – Connectivity Smoke Test Level 2 Integration (L2) – Data Transfer Testing Level 3 Integration (L3) – Staging Tables to Destination System Integration Testing Level 4 Integration (L4) – System to System Function Integration Testing Level 5 Integration (L5) – Business Process Integration (across multiple systems and interfaces) Source Staging Sink Staging

5 Integration Release 2: Execute DAM daily and verify key upstream interfaces Conducted L1 (Connectivity ) and L2 testing of interfaces (data transfer) MMS running DAM on test data based on CIM schema version 1.12 External Web Services submission testing of all bid and offer types to MMS, publishing awards, obligations and Market results compliant with V 1.15 of EWS MMS staging tables to support outputs for Settlement through the Commercial Systems Integration (CSI) layer

6 Integration Release 3 Validate MMS interfaces and initial test of integrated Settlements L1 and L 2 testing of additional interfaces External web services compliant with V 1.16 of EIS document MMS compliant with V 1.16 of CIM (closer to the final version) Initial testing of MMS and Settlements integration

7 Integration Release 4 Integrated EMS-MMS and Bid to Bill testing L3 and L4 testing of Nodal interfaces and applications NMMS integration with EMS, Registration, Outage Scheduler, and S&B EMS – MMS integration for DAM, SCED and RUC provides ability to execute DAM and RUC with minimal data stubs Consistent dataset flowing between applications Alerts and notices Ability to perform initial Bid to Bill through Settlements integration (All Billing & Credit Determinants)

8 Integration Release 5 CIM Integration & Data, Full Market Timeline testing L5 testing of Nodal systems Nodal end-to-end business process testing on final version of CIM schema and data Operational Readiness testing (Security, Fail-over, Monitor, Performance etc.) Stabilization
