5 How to assess priorities..1 Natural responsibility –Family: nuclear, extended Time dependence –Can this wait? Personal vs. other’s control –Does it depend on other’s activities Does it serve long-term goals or aspirations

6 How to assess priorities..2 Is it “vain” or substantial? “Rule of rescue” – equivalent to giving first preference to the most severe health conditions (esp. emergency care for life-threatening illnesses) What is the opportunity cost?

7 Contextual considerations Stability of job Social responsibilities –Family –Community –Etc. Future security Personal strengths and weaknesses –Being realistic!
