4. What is Clash?  Clash is what runs all of debating  It’s the big thing all teams disagree on  If you win the clash then chances are you’ll win the debate

6.  You want to build your ‘Side’  While also minimising the importance of the opponents side  And explain why the circle is more important (Why is X better than Y)  If you’re in the second half you want to make the circle bigger  BUT ALSO you want to highlight your part of the circle.  Why is that specific part important?

7. Thinking in terms of Clash  When prepping the debate it’s really useful to think about what the clash might be  However in each debate the clash can totally change  Debating is a ‘living’ entity  Often Clash is what fuels this living aspect of it

8. Summaries Job  Summaries job is basically to unfairly talk about the size of these circles  You’re drawing these imaginary circles and explaining why your circle is bigger than the opponents
