TRIANGLE PROOFS Slideshow 44, Mathematics Mr Richard Sasaki, Room 307
2
OBJECTIVES Form groups of three or four Research the proof given to you Place the proof on a piece of A4 paper
3
PROOFS First, please move so that you are in groups of three or four. Any students unwilling to work in a group may work on their own but will need to discover their own triangle proof. Others, please choose a card.
4
PROOFS Unlike with number proofs, you will not (likely) need to use set notation. Notation you need to use is as shown on Slideshow 42 – Geometric Notation. (Lines, line segments, rays, angles, triangle, congruent, similar. You may not need to use parallel or perpendicular.)
5
GRADED WORK Please understand that this will be graded and all group members are expected to get the same mark. At the end, each group will complete a sheet to state what each group member did in the project.
6
RESEARCH For the remainder of the lesson, please use a computer (up to two per group) and try to find information about your proofs online. Make sure you know what the question means and you may research in Japanese…but of course your written proof must be in English.
