9.  Puritans saw native Americans as lazy savages  Pequot War  1630’s Puritans engaged with Fur Trade with Pequot's and other Indian tribes  Rivalry over trade and Indian opposition to English land expansion led to war  Puritan's teamed up with Narragansett and Mohegan
