Introduction Youth Angling Academy originated in Cape Town (South-Africa), and is a result of an empowered initiative where Errol Adams and he's son Wayne Adams combined and used their knowledge, skills and resources to establish an academy that reflects the demographics of South-Africa. With the passion for angling and dedication the academy was started and is destined to change the perception of the sport. Our multi-disciplinary programs allows for the development of various projects the community

The Youth Academy request funding /sponsorships in both monetary value and required equipment in support of our on-going programs for the youth with great disadvantages in our communities (Cape Flats and surrounding areas) The Youth Angling Academy was founded in 2010 by Errol Adams and Wayne Adams after seeing one (1) of the foundering members participated in the 2009 - 2010 Angling Competition held in Zululand (Kwazulu Natal). The Academy aims also to improve the lot of the youth by school attendance and extra mural activities. The Academy has training and development programs in place. Our Role is to provide opportunities in the context of our Youth battling with a range of social problems, violence and crime. FACTS TO CONSIDER: The youth growing-up are exposed to severe deprivation as a result of poverty, drugs, gangsterism and an almost total absence of community (services) programs. The YAA has a particular concern for these kids and aims to provide them with the best possible training we are able to deliver, with the assistance of financial and other resources We are a prime example of the innovative work for which our Academy stands for, which amongst other features, include the following: A comprehensive day program includes; Training, Development, Assessments Staff development and Training (on-going) that will enable the community that are disadvantaged, to be effective workers Proposal Summary

More about Angling One of many advantages of Rock and Surf Fishing is the scenery and the isolated stretches of beaches, the endless miles of seashores, sand and dunes that looks like a picture perfect fairy tale experience. With the sounds of waves breaking over the rocks and on the shore. The main attraction of cause the fish that can be caught. Rock fishing: fishing from the rocks, and the various fish that can be caught, ranging from edible to non edible Edible fish: e.g. Steenbras, Cob, Galjoen (Our National Fish) Yellow tail, Red roman etc Non Edible Fish: e.g.. Blue & Diamond Rays, Ragged tooth Sharks, Spearnose Sharks, Bronze Whalers Sharks Surf Fishing: from the shore(beach area) and the fish mentioned above can be caught. Sharks and rays can also be caught from the shore, or beach areas

Required equipment Standard Equipment Fishing reels Fishing rods (+/- 10 to 14 feet rod) Rod bucket Litter bucket Fishing line (double X high abrasion line) Sinkers (various weight) Steel trace (depends on the specie targeted) Hooks various sizes Swivels Cooler box Knife Gaff (+/- 3 meters in length, made of bamboo to hook your big fish) Fishing Permit Tape measure For yourself Water or soft drinks Something to eat Clothing to protect you from the heat/sun Sun protector

( 1) To bring out equitable services for the youth by ensuring that they receive an appropriate, planned and developmental programme (2) To help improve the circumstances that arise from the presence of the environment, to equip them with knowledge and skills related to handling challenging activities and tasks (3) To afford parents emotional relief or " time out" for themselves and in the same instance, free mothers to work - thus relieving financial pressure.
