2. John 17 The Great High Priestly Prayer of our Lord!

3. John 17:6-19 John 17:17 Sanctified by the Truth, (Word of God).

4. John 17:17, “Sanctify them in the sphere of Your Truth; Your Word (Bible Doctrine) is Truth.”

5. Principles of Bible Doctrine as the “Truth.” The Rejection of the Truth: Those who do not know the Truth.

6. In John 8:40, 44-47, our Lord is contesting with the self righteous, legalistic, religious leaders who rejected God’s truth and grace being caught up in their own works as deceived by Satan.

7. The Pharisees were the forerunners of many to follow during the Church Age. 2 Peter 2:1-3, 21-23

8. Some false teachers are believers who have gone astray.

9. Throughout the Church Age, the people too will reject the truth and instead follow the lie. 1 Tim 4:1-4; 6:3-5; 2 Tim 2:16- 18; 3:1-9; 4:3-4; Heb 10:26; James 3:14; 1 John 1:6; 2:4.

10. Heb 10:26, “For if we go on sinning willfully after receiving the knowledge (EPIGNOSIS) of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins.”

11. All sins were paid for by Christ on the Cross. This just means that the believer is not utilizing 1 John 1:9 for Experiential Sanctification.

12. James 3:14, “But if you have bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your heart, do not be arrogant and so lie against the truth. 15 This wisdom is not that which comes down from above, but is earthly, natural, demonic.”

13. 1 John 1:6, “If we say that we have fellowship with Him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth.”

14. 1 John 1:8, “If we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves and the truth is not in us.” 1 John 1:8, “If we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves and the truth is not in us.”

15. 1 John 2:4, “The one who says, “I have come to know Him,” and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.”

16. Sometimes, even mature believers are the object of falsehoods and rejection of the truth and become hypocritical believers. Gal 2:14

17. Gal 2:14, “But when I saw that they were not straightforward about the truth of the gospel, I said to Cephas in the presence of all, “If you, being a Jew, live like the Gentiles and not like the Jews, how is it that you compel the Gentiles to live like Jews?”

18. God’s judgment will be brought upon those who teach and support false doctrines of the world. Rom 1:18, 25; 2:8-9

19. Rom 1:18, “For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men who suppress the truth in unrighteousness.”

20. Rom 1:25, “For they exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.”

21. Rom 2:8, “But to those who are selfishly ambitious and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, wrath and indignation. 9There will be tribulation and distress for every soul of man who does evil, of the Jew first and also of the Greek.”

22. What is the Pastor to do in these times of apostasy? 2 Tim 4:2; Titus 1:13-16

23. 2 Tim 4:2, 5; “Preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort, with great patience and instruction. 5 But you, be sober in all things, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.”

24. How should the believer treat those who are deceived and do not know the truth? 2 Tim 2:24-26; James 5:19-20

25. James 5:19, “My brethren, if any among you strays from the truth and one turns him back, 20 let him know that he who turns a sinner from the error of his way will save his soul (life) from death and will cover a multitude of sins.”

26. You will lead him in the avoidance of the 3rd stage of Divine Discipline the Sin Unto Death judgment. Cf. 1 Cor 11:28-30; 1 John 5:16-17
