Korea Network Information Center 3 Status of Spam Due to Internet abrupt expansion, there have been many types of Network Abuse in Korea –Hacking, Spamming, Virus spread & etc. What is SPAM? –Generally unsolicited mailing –Usually to many people with commercial purpose Why are they spamming? –E-mail’s popularization because of Internet users’ exponential increase in Korea (Almost half of population) –Cost-effective marketing method
