1 Notes for the teacher: Start off by revising which countries speak which languages. The following slides enable you and the students to build up short sentences describing flags by their colours and the shapes on them. Look at the notes section at the bottom of each slide to see the sentences. The final slides show how students can design and decribe their own flag. This introduces students to the notion of adjectival agreement, as well as reinforcing gender and number. You might like to show your students the “Meaning of Flags” sheet, to make them think about the shapes and colours that they want to include in their own flags.
