22. During his first voyage, Columbus had limited interactions with the Native American people. He returned to Spain with a handful of trade goods and… 6 Kidnapped Taino men.

28. Native Americans living in what is now Haiti, were ordered to collect a certain quantity of gold and silver every 3 months. When they turned over the gold, they were given a copper token to hang about their neck. Native Americans found without a token often had their hands cut off.
