3 The Clone Wars If you could clone your favorite pet, would you? Why or why not? Cloning has been a controversial topic in science. Do you think research on cloning should continue? Why or why not? As part of today’s lesson, we will look at how cloning is accomplished, some of its benefits and potential issues.

DNA fingerprinting depends on the probability of a match. Many people have the same number of repeats in a certain region of DNA. The probability that two people share identical numbers of repeats in several locations is very small.
