2  Microcontroller  Jennic 5148 will be replaced with LPC2377 (availability of development kit)  LPC2377 has no wireless module: adding two XBee RF Modules (ZigBee protocol)  AD5174 – 1024 Position Potentiometer (SPI)  Regulators – LM317 and LM7805

3  HM2007 and external components are relatively large  Includes 64k of SRAM  Speech recognition kit comes with a PCB  Plan to reuse the majority of the components on this PCB  Both to save space and keep our PCB simple, will connect HM2007 PCB to ours (header on our PCB)

4  Require splitting our PCB into a base station PCB and receiving station PCB  Each will be 3.5in x 3.5in (rough estimate)  Headers to HM2007 PCB and LCD placed on right and bottom edge  PCB’s will be layered; LCD on side of package  ADC and DAC used; want to separate analog and digital grounds to avoid noise in audio

5  XBee module placed in corner, away from other IC’s to minimize interfering w/other devices  Potentiometers and Audio Codec placed near each other and near edge for access to jack  Separate devices that use analog signals (potentiometer, codec, amplifier) from others  Keep decoupling capacitors close to their respective IC’s

6 Analog Micro Regulator Circuit Wireless XBee Module Headers 3.5 inches
