How it will work… 1. You will work in groups of 3 – 4 (as assigned). Group decides who completes the procedure checklist “Preparing the Person’s room.” You may create a notecard for yourselves to be sure everything is set up correctly. Whoever plays the part of the resident for #2 (below) must help with preparing the room.

How it will work… 2. Two people in the group should work together to complete “Admitting the Person,” including introductions, assessments (vital signs, height, & weight), documenting on the admissions form, completing a clothing & belongings list, and orienting the person to the area. A group member who prepared the room should play the part of the resident.

The scenario… 3. Information you have received from the nurse is that the resident you will admit is coming for respite care while her caretaker is on a 2 week vacation. She will not need to change into a gown. There is no IV. The admitting nurse has determined she is capable of independently using her walker and standing on scale. You will not need a urine sample. She has no restrictions that affect positioning, fluid intake, or method of obtaining vital signs.

Groups – you will earn a grade as a group. 25 points total. Groups for 4 th hour (in the order you will test) A. Nicole, Srujal, Prachi, Christian B. Jasmaureen, Celina, Danielle, *Taylor M. C. Ed, Neil, Hubert, Dan D. *Kristen, Katie, Shinera E. Michal, Alexa, *Amy F. Jessica, Erin, *Taylor L.

Groups – you will earn a grade as a group. 25 points total. Groups for 5 th hour A. Ravina, Masumi, Juhi, Avani B. Dana, Pierce, Sabrina, Nick C. Allie, Bailey, Rachel D. Rishi, James, Jessica E. Eduardo, Sagar, Sergio

Preparation today…  First 2 groups from 4 th hour can organize their supplies in the left 2 bedside stands.  First 2 groups from 5 th hour can organize their supplies in the right 2 bedside stands.  I hope to test at least 3 groups per day, so once first group is done & second group moves to testing unit, the third group can organize their their supplies.  Vital signs: we will use automatic BP cuff & electronic thermometer
