What is simple present tense? Simple present tense is a verb form that use to express facts, habits, general truths, repeated actions or unchanging situations, emotions and wishes.

SIMPLE PRESENT TENSE FORM FORMEXAMPLE POSITIVE S + V1 S +/- auxiliary (do/does) + bare infinitive S + be (is,am,are) She likes swimming The children are noisy NEGATIVES + auxiliary (do/does) + not + bare infinitive S + be (is,am,are) + not She doesn’t like swimming The children aren’t noisy INTEROGATIVE Do/Does + S + bare infinitive Be (is,am,are) + S Does she like swimming? Are the children noisy?
