2. Fines A fine is a certain amount of money paid to the government as a punishment for something like a parking fine, speeding, drink driving (something that could cause danger to life). This effects society because some of the money goes to improving things in the community.

3. Prison Prison is used as a place for criminals to be sentence to stay at for a certain amount of time. People are sent to prison as a punishment for their actions e.g. murder, rape, terrorism. In prison they are restricted so they cant do whatever they want and are under strict rules and if they break them there are consequences such as longer time in prison. This effects society because it makes it a safer place for the public.

4. Community Service Community service is unpaid work, intended to be of social use, that an offender is required to do instead of going to prison to benefit the community e.g. picking up litter, mowing grass at public cemeteries, or helping out at the local homeless shelter or food pantry. This helps society because it makes it a nicer place, cleaner and helps society.

5. Restorative Justice Restorative Justice is a system of criminal justice which focuses on the rehabilitation of criminals through reconciliation with victims and the community. They allow the criminal to meet the victim to see the impact and damage caused because of their actions. This effects society because it allows the criminal to see the problems that they made and all the people effected, it will stop them from doing it again and cause them a lot of guilt.

6. Death Penalty The death penalty is not in the UK but is used in other country's like USA. It is when criminals that do something terrible e.g. brutally murder someone and are sent to be killed due to the death sentence. Some ways that they use to kill the criminals is; electric chair, stoned to death, hung, beheading, shot, crucifixion, the lethal injection etc. This effects society because it will scare people and probably prevent them from doing it too. It is a very harsh way to deal with criminals but it is cheaper and some people think it is necessary.
