Some transitions that we want to signal to our readers:
We are continuing in the same direction and adding new information.
E.g. “I had a wonderful time last night, and __________.”
We are changing directions or we are going to compare and contrast events or ideas.
E.g. “I had a wonderful time last night, but ____________.”
We are going to show the cause and effect of events or ideas.
E.g. “Because I had such a great time last night, I would like to __________”
The order/sequence/time of events and ideas is important.
