Short story Hungarian company exported other organic solvents, washing liquides and mother liquors (EWC 070504*) to Austria for disposal (D10). They had a valid permit to 31st March 2005. The two last shipments were on 6th April, 14th April 2005.

Short story We received a notice from Austrian competent authority, that the Ltd. had two illegal shipments. We cleared the fact and after we imposed a fine. The penalty was 49 500 000 HUF ≈ € 183 333. In this event we haven’t a final judgement.

Questionnaire No. 2. 2. Ltd. contravened: -Basel Convention Article 9., Paragraph 1. a)-b). -the Council Regulation (EEC) No 259/93 on supervision and control of shipments of waste within, into and out of European Community Article 26. Paragraph 1. b)

Questionnaire No. 2. 3. We received a notice from Austrian competent authority.

Questionnaire No. 2. 4-6. -We imposed a fine after the investigation. -We didn’t take safety measure, because Austrian competent authority didn’t turn back that two shipments. -National Inspectorate led the investigation and we didn’t involve other governmental agencies.

Questionnaire No. 2. 7-8. -We communicated with Austrian competent authority in letter. -Yes! We imposed a fine. (49 500 000 HUF)

Questionnaire No. 2. 9-11. -We imposed a fine, Ltd. appealed and a Ministry approved the fine. After Ltd. go to administrative court. Communication was in letter and telephone. -It is a tipical illegal traffic and Ltd. deny everything because they don’t want to pay.
