To provide more specific information to students, parents and teachers
To plan individual learning lessons which address grade-level expectations not yet mastered

4. What are Grade-Level Expectations?
Skills that a child will be able to demonstrate by the end of the school year

5. Where did the grade-level expectations originate?
From the Georgia Performance Standards (GPS)

6. How will the GPS be used?
Teachers will have a standards checklist based on grade level expectations
Teachers will utilize these expectations to guide instruction
These grade-level expectations will be included on the newly designed report cards

On the report card, standards indicated with an asterisk will be standards not yet assessed during this term. However, a grade will be given by the end of the year.

10. Grading Student Work
Graded papers will look different when they come home.
The teacher will score the assignment with the number of problems correct on the top and total number of total items on the bottom with teacher comments.
