HALLOWEEN Halloween is a Celtic holiday, found today in many countries, beginning with the nineteenth century, due to Irish immigrants in the United States. It is celebrated on the night of October 31.

Symbols of Halloween Halloween has many symbols but the most classic are carved pumpkins. The Americans borrowed the idea of carved pumpkins from English people. They used carved pumpkins, but their sculptures were actually in watermelon. Americans do pumpkin carving because it is easier than watermelon carving. It is said that the light of pumpkins is their personality.

Halloween Customs One of the most popular Halloween custom is to go to neighbors‘ doors, wearing scary clothes: Trick or treat? The children receive sweets from the persons concerned; when they return at home they enjoy eating them.
