Igor Stravinsky was born at Oranienbaum near St. Petersburg, Russia, in June 17,1882
Lived in California and he lived there for most of his life.

3. Background of Igor Stravinsky
Igor Stravinsky’s father was a singer with an opera company. And as a child Igor Stravinsky attended his fathers performances
His parents wanted him to become a lawyer rather then a musician.

4. Childhood
Igor’s childhood was very upsetting his family affected his love for music, he didn’t do anything major until his father died

He had four children Fyodor, Lyudmila, Soulima and Milena.

6. What led Stravinsky to become a composer
Igor spent several semesters studying law at the University of St. Petersburg, in Russia but he still continued his music studies, including composition lessons with well known Russian composer, Nicolay Rimsky Korsakov.

He first achieved international fame with three ballet
The Firebird
Petrushka
The Rite of Spring

8. Music, “The Firebird, Berceuse and Finale”
The Firebird was influenced by Russian folk songs.
The firebird reveals to Ivan that by breaking a special egg, the sorcerer will die.
Berceuse and Finale is the last dance Ivan is protected from a sorcerer by the magic feather of the Firebird.
