The northern part of France, with chalky cliffs along the seashore. Paired with Dover, England for the chalky cliffs. Also paired with Dover for the Chunnel under the English Channel. l’Angleterre La France 40 km = 24.8 miles

Lille is the capital. It has a university, and it is the hub city of that part of Europe. It is also the birth home of Charles de Gaulle, from WWII fame.

Agriculture is important because of the exceptionally fertile soil.

Heavy industry (oil and steel) production is here. As well, the region has carbon, textile, and automobile industries for car and car parts production (Peugeot, Renault, Michelin, Chrysler, and Firestone).

Boulogne is the main fishing city of France.
