MCB is one of the largest science departments in the Faculty of Arts and Sciences at Harvard University 500 individuals (Faculty, Postdoctoral Fellows, Graduate Students, research and academic support staff) Post-Award Research Administration Team 5 Portfolio Managers, including 1 Lead Support ~40 Faculty Members ~$30 million annual faculty sponsored and non-sponsored funding Each Portfolio Manager is assigned 6-8 Faculty Members/PIs

A complete Financial Summary Package includes the following to the Faculty Member and Lab Administrator – 1. Snapshot – provides present and projected balances for each sponsored and non-sponsored fund in a faculty member’s portfolio 2. Projection Summary – monthly cost estimate projected through fund’s current budget period. Amounts derived from Personnel Effort Report, Outstanding Purchase Orders and Average monthly Cost Summary. 3. Personnel Effort Report – laboratory personnel listed by funding source 4. Outstanding Purchase Orders – goods and services pending receipt and/or payment
