Physics Scavenger Hunt 1.Print each slide individually. 2.Hang up around the room. 3.Tell students to number a sheet of paper from 1-11. 4.Students may begin at any sheet in the room. They do NOT write the word at the top of the sheet. 5.They should read the definition at the bottom and when they find the word that belongs to that definition, they will write the word. 6.They will then read the new definition and continue until they have 11 words and end up where they started. 7.If they get back to where they started before they have 11 words, they have made a mistake. You can quickly look at the key and tell them where they made the mistake and they can go start again (at the definition they got incorrect).

Unbalanced Force The SI unit for force.

Newton The force that results from combining all the forces exerted on an object.

Net Force The measure of the gravitational force on an object.

Weight A simple machine used to change the direction of a force.

Pulley Force that results in no change of motion.

Balanced Force The tendency of all objects to resist any change in motion.

Inertia The amount of matter in an object.

Mass The force of attraction between objects.

Gravity A flat surface set at an angle that reduces the amount of force needed to move an object.

Inclined Plane A push or pull on an object.

Force Force that results in a change of motion.
