Where is Guyana located?  It is located on the northern coast of south America.  Guyana can be divided into five natural regions; a narrow and fertile marshy plain along the Atlantic coast (low coastal plain) where most of the population lives; a white sand belt more inland (hilly sand and clay region), containing most of Guyana's mineral deposits.  The dense rain forests (Forested Highland Region) in the middle of the country; the grassy savannah in the southern west.  And the larger interior highlands (interior savannah) consisting mostly of mountains that gradually rise to the Brazilian border.

Flag, Motto, Anthem:  Motto: "One people, one nation, one destiny.”  Anthem: "Dear Land of Guyana, of Rivers and Plains."

Sports:  Netball is a ball sport played between two teams of seven players. Netball derived from basketball and in fact it used to be called women's basketball.  It resulted from some confusion when the rules of the new game of basketball was imported into Britain in the late 1890s.  It was then developed as a more lady-like version suitable for English school girls via strict non-contact rules and limitations on the amount of movement around the court.  This therefore minimized the exertion the 'gels' that the girls were exposed to and also of course minimized their perspiration.

Economy:  The main economic activities in Guyana are agriculture (production of rice and Demerara sugar), bauxite mining, gold mining, timber, shrimp fishing and minerals.  Chronic problems include a shortage of skilled labor and a deficient infrastructure.  In 2008, the economy witnessed a 3% increase in growth amid the global economic crisis and is expected to grow further in 2009.

Famous People:  Rycklon Stephens (born April 22, 1978) is a Guyanese bodybuilder and professional wrestler.  He is currently signed to World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), working on its Raw brand under the ring name Ezekiel Jackson, but is inactive due to injury.  He is a one-time world champion, having won the ECW Championship in February 2010, and is recognized by WWE as the final ECW Champion.

What do you or your peers like the most about Guyana?  St. George's Anglican Cathedral is one of the tallest wooden church structures in the world and the second tallest wooden house of worship after the Todaiji Temple in Japan.  Demerara Harbour Bridge is the world's fourth-longest floating bridge.  Kaieteur Falls.  Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Building houses the largest and most powerful economic union in the Caribbean.  Providence Stadium is situated in Providence on the east bank of the Demerara River and built in time for the ICC World Cup 2007, it is the largest sports stadium in the country. It is also near the Providence Mall, forming a major spot for leisure in Guyana.
