1 The College of Education and Health Professions Department of Kinesiology Offers Scholarships! SPRING 2011 Ben Hogan Institute Scholarship – Amount:$500 Eligibility Requirements: Athletic Training Major, member of Maverick Student Athletic Trainers’ Society, sophomore classification or above, 2.75 GPA overall, 3.0 GPA major, enrolled full time for spring semester, preference given to students who are members of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association and who are planning careers in Athletic Training. Application Procedure: Submit a short resume detailing education background, overall GPA and departmental GPA, work experiences, along with a cover letter (1/2 page minimum) stating your career goals and objectives as well as why you feel qualified to receive the award. Turn in submission to the contact person listed below. An interview with scholarship sponsor is required. Eugene W. Anderson Memorial Scholarship – Amount: $300 Eligibility Requirements: KINE Major, Teacher Education Certification Emphasis, Sophomore classification or above, 3.0 GPA overall, 3.25 GPA in major, preference given to males seeking careers in Secondary or Elementary Physical Education. For information about contributing to this scholarship, please see Legacy of Education Scholarship Program. Application Procedure: Submit a short resume detailing education background and work experiences, along with a brief paragraph stating your career goals and objectives as well as why you feel qualified to receive the award. Turn in submission to the contact person listed below. Hugh and Anne Simmons Scholarship - Amount: $250 Eligibility Requirements: KINE Major, 3.0 GPA overall, 30 hours completed at UTA, 12 hours minimum in KINE, aged 25 or over, priority given to single parent or first generation student Application Procedure: Submit a short resume detailing education background, overall GPA and departmental GPA, work experiences, along with a cover letter (1/2 page minimum) stating your career goals and objectives as well as why you feel qualified to receive the award. Application Procedure: Submit a short resume detailing education background, overall GPA and departmental GPA, work experiences, along with a cover letter (1/2 page minimum) stating your career goals and objectives as well as why you feel qualified to receive the award. Mary Lou D’Esposito Achievement Award - Amount: $250 Eligibility Requirements: KINE Major, 3.0 PGA overall, 3.25 GPA in major, 15 or more hours completed in KINE courses, full time student Application Procedure: Submit a short resume detailing education background, overall GPA and departmental GPA, work experiences, along with a cover letter (1/2 page minimum) stating your career goals and objectives as well as why you feel qualified to receive the award.
